Kathryn Waters, Esq.
Kathryn currently focuses her practice on workers’ compensation and all aspects of MGL Ch. 32, including public employees disability retirement, group classification, regular compensation, and termination allowance. Prior to joining the firm, Kathryn served as Associate General Counsel for the Massachusetts State Board of Retirement, where she represented public employees for 4 years. While Associate General Counsel at MSRB, Kathryn was invited to speak at the 2018 Fall Massachusetts Association of Contributory Retirement Systems about PERAC Medical Panel Standards. She also wrote and edited the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Estate Planning for the Aging or Incapacitated Client in Massachusetts (4th Edition 2012, Supplement, 2018), Chapter 8 - Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Systems which was published in 2018.
Kathryn also has experience in Health Care Law and Criminal Law. She practiced as an attorney in the Health Care Division of the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General for 4 years, advocating for consumers to receive fair and equal access to health care, and to stop unfair and deceptive practices by insurers, providers, and pharmaceutical companies. Additionally, Kathryn served as Special Assistant District Attorney with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office at Boston Municipal Courthouse. As a lawyer, Kathryn has represented clients at the Division of Administrative Law Appeals, the Contributory Retirement Appeal Board, in civil and criminal court, and before various administrative agencies and boards.
