Sarah Gibson, Esq.
Sarah Gibson has more than 30 years’ experience representing public employee unions, and for more than 25 years, she focused on health and safety issues on behalf of public employee unions. She advised K-12 and higher education unions on the technical and legal dimensions of health and safety issues, including indoor air quality and hazardous substances such as PCBs, asbestos, mold, formaldehyde, and lead. She advised public employee unions on the legal requirements of public construction/renovation projects, and the environmental impact of construction/renovation projects on building occupants. She represented unions and individual employees in cases involving health and safety grievances, workplace accommodations for employees, work-related disability claims, AHERA compliance issues, handicap discrimination, and collective bargaining and/or contract issues. She also worked with representatives of cities and towns, school districts, higher education institutions, state and federal agencies, employee organizations and community stakeholders to develop environmental management plans, health and safety policies, chemical hygiene plans, hazardous materials use and disposal plans, and asthma prevention policies.
